The
Quay Web Network was born from requests by small agencies, support
groups, youth clubs and young people who were interested in creating
web pages
on which to post news and advertise services.
The project is organised and run by staff at the Quay Advice Centre and
the Quay Foyer
who provide training in web site design and
also provide hosting for agencies web pages.
The
idea behind the project is to have one main portal through which other sites
may be accessed via links working towards a comprehensive picture of services
and news regarding young people in Poole.
Participants in the project include volunteers and young
people who have been sponsored to do a short web design course by
partnership organisations who expressed an interest in having young
people design
their web
sites for them.
Partner organisations included young people who wanted to learn how to
produce web sites, organisations who wanted to learn how to build their
own web sites and organisations who wanted web sites built for them.
Partnership
organisations who
have taken part are the Quay Foyer, Teenage Pregnancy
Strategy Group and Youth Service.
